Pidgeon Pocket: Pigeon Heist and Pigeons Away: Rooftop Puzzle Are Two New Games

Developer Lianes8 Studio released a bunch of new games on Android last week. Two of these games are about pigeons, but they play completely differently. One is about feathered little criminals, while the other is a rooftop puzzle. The games are Pidgeon Pocket: Pigeon Heist and Pigeons Away: Rooftop Puzzle.

Lianes8 Studio is an independent game studio run by Spanish developer Javier Lianes García. In Pidgeon Pocket, you turn a bunch of pigeons into a pickpocketing empire, while in Pigeons Away, you figure out which birds can fly away without bumping into someone else.

First up is Pidgeon Pocket: Pigeon Heist

It’s a cute, chill incremental heist game where you tap someone in a crowd, send a pigeon diving toward their pocket, and collect the loot. You then spend it on upgrades before doing the whole thing again.

The game has 20 superpowers, with one assigned to each pigeon, and those powers charge up as the birds steal more stuff. The abilities are quite ludicrous! Giant makes a pigeon grow to twice its normal size and steal three times as much. Disguise gives it a top hat and moustache that convince the police to stop noticing it. Then there’s Ricochet, which lets a pigeon bounce from one person’s pocket straight to another. Every power has five levels.

There’s also an egg system. Every time you reach a new level, you get an egg with three possible rewards to choose from: a new power, an upgrade to a power you already have, or a bag of coins. Every fifth egg is golden. And the game has police patrolling your target areas, too!

Next up is Pigeons Away: Rooftop Puzzle

This one is a logic puzzle game. Each pigeon can only fly in the direction it’s facing, so you need to tap birds with a clear path to send them away. There are 120 levels spread across six districts, taking you from a sunny park to the harbour at night.

Some pigeons are sleepy and need to be tapped to wake them up before they’ll fly away. Others are big enough to take up two squares and can only fly along the direction of their bodies. Weathervane pigeons turn a quarter of a rotation every time another pigeon takes off. And then there are the hungry pigeons who will stop in the middle of a flight to eat crumbs.

It also includes gulls, which can’t be moved directly and will only leave when their entire row and column are empty. Tied pairs have to take off together with a single tap, while gusts of wind bend a pigeon’s flight in the direction of an arrow. Twin lofts add another twist by letting pigeons enter through one door and come out through another. Oh, there’s a cat, too!

So, head over to the Google Play Store to grab Pidgeon Pocket: Pigeon Heist and Pigeons Away: Rooftop Puzzle.
