Action-Puzzle Adventure Tama In-Between is Coming to PC and Switch Soon

Indie publisher Fruitbat Factory has put a release date on Tama In-Between, Masagomi Studios’ 2D action-puzzle adventure. It’s coming to Steam on October 29th, 2026, with a Nintendo Switch version also planned for 2027.

Tama In-Between is a slime cat puzzle game where you can absorb, split yourself into clones, and then possess those clones. You control the mysterious Slime Cat Tama through a strange fantasy world full of mysteries and obstacles.

Tama has three main abilities, and everything revolves around figuring out how to combine them. Absorb lets Tama eat slimes that appear throughout a stage, and you can even reabsorb your own clones. The bigger Tama’s body gets, the more clones you’re able to create.

Then there’s Split, which lets Tama split its chonky slime body and leave a clone behind. You can place those clones on switches, and the recoil from splitting can also launch Tama across wide gaps.

And then the most fascinating among the three is Possess. Tama can send its soul over to a distant clone and take control of its body. So, you’re setting up little versions of yourself and figuring out when and where to jump between them.

Every stage in Tama In-Between is built around a challenge that asks for both clever ideas and precise execution. They offer different gimmicks, including gusts of wind, locked doors, and moving or disappearing platforms that you can activate.

Tama In-Between is inspired by multiple games

The inspiration behind the game apparently goes back to some very specific old-school favourites. Masagomi Studios mentions Lode Runner, Solomon’s Key, and Donkey Kong on Game Boy as games they’ve always enjoyed. Celeste was another major influence, even though it isn’t an action-puzzle game.
