Cats in space? Lovely. Cats in space with a rather complicated magnet problem? Even better.

Kitties on Planets is the latest arrival from Afil Games, bringing a pair of astronaut felines to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Available in three separate versions on Xbox and PC, priced at £4.19 each, this colourful puzzle adventure asks players to put their thinking caps on and get a little help from the laws of magnetic attraction.

Two Cats, Two Very Different Jobs

Across a series of space-themed stages, players must guide supply boxes onto their matching objectives. The catch is that you’re not controlling just one character, but two astronaut cats with very different talents.

The white cat handles the heavy lifting, able to push boxes around the environment. However, those boxes won’t politely stop where you want them to. Once pushed, they continue moving until they hit an obstacle, so a poorly judged move could leave an important supply stranded somewhere you can’t reach.

The black cat takes a rather different approach. Unable to push boxes, it can instead manipulate magnets scattered around each level. These attract nearby boxes and even the inactive cat, allowing you to reposition objects and characters to create new routes through the puzzle.

Magnetic Personalities And Increasingly Tricky Puzzles

Getting the best from the pair means switching between them regularly and thinking several moves ahead. Magnetism works in a straight line, too, and won’t pass through walls or other objects blocking its reach. That makes positioning every character, box and magnet an important part of the challenge.

The early stages introduce the mechanics at a gentle pace, before gradually combining them into more demanding puzzles. What starts as a simple exercise in moving boxes soon becomes a test of planning, spatial awareness and knowing exactly when to hand control to the other cat.

Afil Games has another compact puzzle offering on its hands here (and believe us, they have pushed a good few to market in recent years), but the two-character setup gives Kitties on Planets a neat identity of its own.

At £4.19 per version (Xbox Series X|S optimised, for Xbox One, or for Windows PC), Kitties on Planets looks like a tempting little trip into space – provided you can keep those supply boxes under control. After all, the universe is a big place, and nobody wants to spend the afternoon chasing a runaway box.
